What is the proper name of the paint of the undercarriage? the red oxide brownish looking color of the floorpans trunk interior floor etc? I have decided I need some (and I need it now or whenever I find out what it is) for my project. Thank you in advance

Hi Papa,
When the car was built, it was red oxide primer and was lacquer based.
Today, most of us restoring these cars are using red oxide primer- but its EPOXY or a 2K paint system. Much better at corrosion protection and durability than the old lacquer was.
