Welcome to VCCA Chat. We're mostly a Chevy site, but I didn't say anything yesterday because lots of car people work with more that one badge.

Pontiac 1932-
6 Cyl twin head 3 main bearing engine with full pressure oiling, 3 7/16" bore and 3 7/8" stroke, 200 cubic inches and 65 H.P.,. 114" wheelbase . Serial numbers ran from 729001 through 763983. Engine numbers from 835001 through 879565. Job 32309 is a 1932 Standard 4 door. Car weighs 2960 pounds. The body is basically a 1932 Chevrolet body. The suspension,drive train and differential is bascially a Chevrolet. The rear axle ratio is 4.56 to 1. That was the last year for that 6 Cyl engine. In 1933 and 1934 all pontiacs were 8 Cyl and they had an all new 4 main bearin 6 in 1935.
The 192 Pontiac 6 was a 1932 Chevrolet with a longer hood and a very much different engine. It was a very low production year for Pontiac (and all cars).
Used about the same colors as Chevrolet.
Was avaiable with either wire spoke or wood spoke wheels.

Some early 1932 Pontiacs used leftover 1930/31 Oakland V8 engines as well.

The 6 Cyl. were the P6 and the 8 Cyl were the P8. The 8 Cyl were really rare.

I got the engine numbers. P836014
I was told elsewhere that this may be a 402cu. Is that right ?

Is there any way to ID the trans ?
I have a pull knob on the steering column that says freewheel
but nothing is hooked up to it and I dont see anywhere on the trans that a cable could go into.

Two of the 1932 Pontiac 6 Cyl engines together would be 400 Cubic inches + 2 for a little cylinder wear.
Sorry, 200 is all it had. The V8 had only 251 cubic inches - which was a medium sized engine by 1932 standards.
The freewheeling cable attaches to a lever on the freewheeling unit which is on the rear of the transmission. They are usually disconnected so the freewheeling can not be used.
I have no trans case casting numbers.

I dont see anything like that on the back of the trans , exept where a speedometer cable goes into.
Do those numbers say anything about the paint/color combination ?
The door jams look like a faded blue but who knows.

The chevytalk site told me I have the 402 series pontiac and this site tells alot about the mechanicals and the paint codes
but its under construction right now. My numbers I have dont match their paint codes , Is there any tags I missed to get the paint codes ???
