Hello, I'm putting my 28 Chevy back together and have notice the
clutch drive plate seems to be too thick. Once I had the pressure plate fully fastened, the springs were just about bottomed out. I put the plate between centers on a lathe. The
runout was alot, I did'nt measure it though I should have. The
initial plate thickness was .420" I machined it some and now it's about .38". The material does'nt machine well,( big surprise :) I only cleaned up about half the runout. I'd guess
it still runs out about .015" I've been machining for a living for a while so I trust my own "guesstimate" Thanks for any input. Dexter Doucet VCCA # 39494
