Hi, I currently ran across a 1934 pickup for sale. Original condition, needing total restoration. Body wood is gone, but body surface rust and little dents. Fenders very rough. Door ok. Truck runs. How much is it worth? Want to offer a fair price, but little to compare to.

From the ones I have seen for sale, which this is the same truck I search for alot. I think $1500 would be fair. The trucks that still have wood and running with some body would work needed I saw sold up to $14,000. As you may know the wood kit cost over $2000 for the cab. I most I have paid is $475 for one of my 34's but is is rough or a complete parts. Good luck. Mike

Mike, Thanks a bunch! The guy is asking $7500, which I thought seemed really high since the truck has potential to restore, but would take a lot of money and time. I must admit, I don't know much about this year, and have only researched for a few days. Can you find or buy seats or front fenders? The seats are missing and the fenders are very rough, with the right needing significant metal work. If the wood kit is $2000, I figure I would have to put in at least $6000 more to restore it to a presentable condition. That doesn't count the labor! I thought I would offer $3000 - 4000, but even that seems high compared to the other years I have purchased and restored. The problem is I don't want to insult the guy. All the best, Paul

Junkyard Dog, Thanks for the advice. It is a pretty little gem, and get's my heart pumping, but I thought I would ask the experts. I'll keep looking for my next project. Thanks, again. Paul

Paul, have you seen the one currently on EBayMotors? Remember how much trouble you got into by thinking with your heart and not your head...when you got married!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, unless you're doing for the shear love of the truck and your hobby, will you or how far upside down will you be when it's finished?
GOOD LUCK!

The '34 1/2T on Ebay did not reach the reserve. Highest bid was like $2800 or so. Keep watching Ebay. Often times the seller will relist when the reserve is not met.
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!
