Can anyone tell me the correct way to glue my new NOS running board mats? Do you install the backer plate first and then glue the mats or glue them and then attach them? I spent too much money for them to screw it up. What adhesive is suggested?

Hoppy,

I'll be no help, but where'd you get your mats? What'd they cost you?

Michael-I said that these mats were NOS, that is not true, they were reproductons of excellent quality that were made by a man named John McConville that has since past away and I got them from an individual who had the forsight to buy several sets and he sold a set to us for many times the original cost, but we were grateful to find them at any rate.

The fellow that made the running board mats was Jim McConville, not John McConville. I knew Jim for decades before he passed away. He was a very cool dude!

I will check to see where my repros came from, but they came with instructions and I glued them with contact cement to the backer plate before attached to the car. I will send you the instructions when I get home this evening. If you like, send me your personal email address. If you have photos of your 33, I would love to see it.

Hey Four Doors:
I just sent you the instructions from James McConville. I scanned them so they are in PDF.

Your car looks great.

Best regards

Jolo
