I have a GMC nos dash cluster (.6 miles) that I am putting in my 40 chev pickup. I converted the truck to 12V, put the reducers for 6V on the heater/defroster and gas gauge. Does the temp gauge work on 12v or does it require 6V? The gauge has two terminals, one for power and the other goes to a 12v sensor in the block (261 motor) to regulate the ground voltage. right now I have it connected to 12v but I get very little readings on the gauge. Next: The heat riser on my exhaust leaks,bad. I am considering to remove the heat riser all together as this truck is going to California and should not need the heat riser in the warmer climate.
