I am attaching the drive shaft to the transmission on a 1932 Coach. The trunnion bearing collar is on, but there is slop from side to side. I can't see how this can work, unless the torque tube serves to stabilize the drive shaft. Is the joint sloppy? Is the collar directional? Thank you.

Also......there is a right way and a wrong way to install the trunnion bearings. The ID hole with the radius goes against the "U" joint yoke.
