I think I have everything I need to change the clutch, which I just had resurfaced with DOT approved materials, (any feedback concerning that is appreciated.)...I think I got all the gaskets from Gary Wallace a few weeks ago. I'm getting ready to do this...but I also would like to change the gaskets on the diff...both front and rear...(rear should be a no brainer)...but can I get some advice on removing whatever I need to, to replace the front gasket...also in the set of transmission gaskets I received from Mr. Wallace..the O ring, the cork, and the few paper gaskets (the ones that are alike) are easy to place...where do I put the others?

In order to replace the gasket at the front of the differential it will be necessary to remove both axles, break the torque tube behind the transmission at the U-Joint. Remove any brake cross members, loosen the U-Bolts that are around the springs and axle housing. At this time you should be able to remove the ring and pinion unit out the front of the differential housing. (Assumed you removed all the bolts/nuts on both sides of the housing). You may have extra gaskets in the kit. It may cover more than one application.

I just spent over 4 hours on one crevis pin for the brake cross shaft
Removing the transmission...Page 64... Disconnect brake cross shaft at both ends...(and leave there, remove? or... Split the Universal Joint... how far back does the ball back onto the propeller shaft?
Separate the universal joint rings by removing the ring bolt and nuts. (get a wrench in there and losen the nuts? The rear yoke and propeller shaft and housing may then be dropped down....

Got the brake cross shaft out from under the car. But is it necessary to separate the forward yoke from the transmission spline shaft???

I'm changing the clutch on my 31. I had absolutely no pedal...and when released, the pedals "thumped" against the engine side of firewall. Both clutch and brake.
Remove the cork from the universal ball joint assembly and replace with the o-ring?
