We have a 1932 Special Sedan and we have the heater shown in the 1931 Service news, but the holes in the fire wall are vertical (5.5" apart) and the heater tubes are lined up horizontally. jnoin.com/32Chevrolet.aspx See pictures 3 and 4.
Does anyone know if they made a different heater with tubes that are lined up vertically? Or are the tubes in the fire wall there for some other part?

The holes appear to be for the bolts that hold the heater in place. Don't see any holes for the tubes.

The holes look a little large to be for the mounting bolts...the holes in the photo appear more like holes for the tubes. At any rate, a heater with vertical tubes would be incorrect for your vehicle.

To my eyes the holes appear to be similar size as the square nuts holding the coil which are too small for the tubes.

The holes in the photo on my computer appear to be larger than twice the size of the square nuts on the coil. Even when I zoom in on the photo the holes look very large. Anyway, if the diameter of the holes can be posted by "JustinN" that would greatly help.

By the size of those holes I can't imagine them being used for anything else but aftermarket heater hoses.

I have added a picture of the heater to the website, The holes on the fire wall are 5.5 inches apart on center. And approximately 13/16" in diameter. If you look at the picture of the heater, the mounting holes are significantly smaller. jnoin.com/32Chevrolet.aspx

Yep, that is what I thought, because the holes in the photo looked way larger than just mounting holes. Sounds like the Chipper Dipper needs trifocals!

So the heater you have did not come with that car. My 31 heater has holes for tubes that are diagonal. And 2 mounting holes that are for 1/4 ". I know I.ve read in other posts tha heaters were added at the dealer? And they may have used whatever they had on hand so that may be why they atr not all the same ?

The dealers usually installed genuine Chevrolet accessories. However, they would also install whatever the customer wanted and if the customer preferred an aftermarket accessory the dealer would install the item. Also, sometimes a customer would install his own aftermarket accessories that he purchased from the local auto parts store and a heater would be such an example.

We don't know the full history on our vehicles, so it is possible the accessories were added many years after assembly. Just think, we are adding accessories to our vehicles as I speak.
