I have a generator on a 34 1/2 ton with the three brush setup. With the third brush set to max charging it only charges about 5 to 6 amps. I put in new brushes,turned the commutator and checked the bearings last fall . The charge rate went down after 300 miles. Is this what happens when the ammature starts to go ? Thanks.
