A friend found a Delco remy voltage regulator in an unopened box at a swap meet,P/N 1118725 other numbers follow- 6V-N 2M.Is this regulator proper for a 53 Chevrolet? The box was perfect and the regulator looks brand new, hope it is usable...... Agrin

1118725 will be the correct regulator for a 1953 with a 45 Amp generator (which most had). This would be generators #1102786, 1100018 and 1102785. Number is stamped into the Delco tag on the generator.

Gene, thanks for the info. The tag on the generator is unreadable so I'm not sure whether the generator is 45 amp or not.Any other way to tell? As always thanks for sharing all this great knowledge! If it wasn't for you and others on this site,I would have never considered buying the 53 2 years ago.

The overall length of the generator will be 9 1/8"
There will be no band around the rear area - you can look in and see the brushes, (for the standard 1953 45 AMP)
