I guess it is better to be late than never, I just mailed in my check today, I hope there are still some calendars there when my check arrives! I bet they sell like hotcakes at a snowstorm.

I am going to wait to take some pictures in case we get a nice snow covering the ground, then I will run the cars out one at a time and take some winter scenery type of photos to send in for the 2010 calendar.

By the way, The lady that works on the photos for the calendars(Trinka Altenberger) at <soilvcca@yahoo.com>, Wants high resolution Digital Photos, she told me she likes 1200 x 1200 pixels if possible, raw photos right out of the digital camera emailed to her.

MrMack thanks you are correct Trinka wants high resolution Digital Photos for the calander. Trinka is our secretary/tresure in the Southern Illinois region and this has been her project from the time I said do you think we could do the calander. Her answer was yes and in just a little over six weeks they are ready to ship in fact she shipped 64 calandars on friday afternoon just four hours after we picked them up from the printer. with help like Trinka Altenberger and Cassy Hammonds that is doing our new web site I'm sure the Southern Illinois region will grow very fast. I want to thank Trinka for all the hard work she has done on the calanders. she has done a great job.

The VCCA calendar by the Southern Illinois Region is produced with as a very high quality product. The calendar has a spiral bound binding. It also has a great view of Louis Chevrolet on the front cover. I think the front cover was taken from the Louis Chevrolet memorial in the infield at the Indianapolis 500 Speedway ?

The picture of the Louis Chevrolet memorial was taken from the VCCA web site on the 100 years of chevrolets page. but I think it is the one from Indy speedway. I would like to state that we worked very hard to get the 2009 calendars out as fast as we did. we are finding that we made a few errors in the calendar we are trying to correct them as we are told about them. If we made an error on your car please let us know. we are sorry for the errors and will try harder next year.
We want to do the three calendars in 2010. 4,6,& 8 cylinder erea and we are accepting pictures now. with more time i'm sure we will do a better job. sales of the 2009 calendars are going well and we make a small proffit on each callendar. compar with other car calendars that are selling from $13 to $15 plus shipping. We think the club calendar is a great idea and don't want to see it go away. so please help us keep it going. Thanks to every one who has been a part of this project from California to Norway and Australia

I suggest putting several notices in the G&D and webpages to get photos in for calendar(s). People tend to put off until last minute or after and expect you to adjust.

why not send us a picture of your 1919 fb50 touring for the 2010 calendar. I've not seen it but I think it would make a great calendar page there can't be that many of them left.

The weather is getting nice. so why not get a few pics of your favorite chevy and send them to the southern Illinois region for the 2010 calendar. Just send to soilvcca@yahoo.com please send uncroped photos and the higher the resolution the better.

I like the idea of advertising in the G&D. How about under Miscelleaneous Wanted:
Wanted Dead or Alive: Pictures of your Chevrolet car, truck, restored or unrestored. The pictures will be used in the Second Annual 2010 VCCA Calendar. This is a project by the Southern Illinois Region.

dtm
ps. You could run this ad in the G&D for several months in a row.

Jim from the previous postings here the people that produce the calendars ( Trinka Altenberger [soilvcca@yahoo.com ]) may still need some pictures for the 2010 calendar.

I want to thank everyone who sent photos of their chevy cars and trucks this year. We recieved more than enough to to do the calendars. The problem we have had is there is a primary election in February in Illinois. So the big money polticians were first in line. We should have the calendars ready by the middle on January. If you have sent in money for a Calendar it will be mailed as soon as we get them. If you would like to order one send check or money order in the amount of $11.00 to SOIL VCCA P.O. Box 1052 Herrin Illinois 62948. We are sorry for the delay. Thank to everyone for your support and understanding. Bill
