Can you BELIEVE that!!!!!! Before you know it, the accessories will be worth more then the cars they go into!

The cost of that Mirror when it was new in 1947? $2.30

Hows that for appreciation?

Invest in "vintage" GM accessories for your retirement!!!

Isn't wonderful that some people know the price of everything and the value of nothing! When I finish my car I'm going to get a VCCA passport and drive the heck out of it. If it lacks one of those rare parts, well that's just one less thing I have to worry about when I park it!

Thanks

trust me that is a very big concern. ive spent over $10,000 on all the hard to find and rare accessories for my 1948 chevy, yet i know i can only use them when i finish my car and put it in shows. these parts will never see the actual road or daily use

thats more than double of what i paid for the car itself, but this stuff is only going to see about 1% of the cars actual run time. Lots of money and about a year of hunting half asleep like a zombie at 5am at swapmeets. and even at home the stuff i paid the most for has to sit in my gun safe. having these things may be cool, but wont give me peace of mind if i throw it on. so for now its just for show

Very NICE collection you have there Gallo!!! I have most of what you have pictured for my 47. I started collecting them years ago BEFORE the ridiculous price explosion on the original accessories began. Before I even started working on the car! I have "some" installed, they always draw attention at car shows. VERY Addicting once you get started! I just could never pull the trigger for some, like the compass, hat holder, Flashlight. After all those years, and work I can truly say "DRIVING" the car brings me the most joy! I NEVER get tired of it.. One good thing is, you have quite a nice investment, that will only INCREASE with time! Thanks for shareing your pictures!!!
