I had just assumed that there was no rear window interior garnish mldg for a 29 or 30 Chevy, is that true? I was just told by another member that he is looking for one of these and neither of the cars I have has one in it, my side windows do but not my rear.

Rear windows had upholstery covered wooden strips to hold in the back window. Early '31 used the same type. After that a metal moulding was used.

Ok thanks, I am taking this motor apart, I was going to keep it but I just dont have the room, anyway it isnt right for my car so if anyone wants anything internally they can have it. Just pay the shipping and a few dollars for my tape and gas. Only the internal parts such as crank, rods ect are avail. Its going outside so get back with me if anyone is interested. My # is 813-655-6322

What year is the engine? It would help to know so we could decide on the parts.

Hello. Chipper, can you tell me what is considered early and late as far as production runs during a calender year?? My 31 rear window moulding Thas the wood strips covered in material and numbers indicate that it was manufactured sometime in Feb of 31. Thanks. Jim.

Early is the first few months. Apparently the exact date of the change depends on the body style and Fisher Body plant. Most of the '31 Chevys I have seen with the "early" back window moulding also have the same type mouldings around the quarter windows. They have also been 5 window or Sport Coupes.

Our 31 Sport Coupe had a date of November 1930. It had the wood trim covered with material on the two quarter windows and the rear window. The dash was all painted body color. The tops of the doors were flat, no water groove. It had double bar bumpers. The raised panel around the loovers on the hood stopped in front of the loovers. The later hoods the raised portion was equal distance front to back.

Thank you gentlemen. My hood is of later style and rear window is of early syle and as Chipper states, depends on style of body and assy plant when running changes were made, am content with situation. Jim.
