1933 main bearings were not made as "precision" bearings. So the process is to get "semi" finished bearings and then line bore them installed in the block. That way they can be sized to fit the crankshaft journals and be sure they are correctly inline. I have heard of bearings for undersized journals (actually oversized bearings) that are intended to be installed without line boring. Personally I would not trust them.
