If you find the dimensions, please let me have them. I need dimensions for all the steel work as well.

My car is Holden bodied. As far as I can tell the bows are made from 1 inch x 1 1/2 inch. The four bows are all made the same and fitted to suit. The rear bow is reinforced with a tapered piece inside across the flat. Mine have an OD of 57 inches and the internal radius on the ends is 6 inches.
I have a set of side on measurements which I will email to you.
Hope that this helps somehow.

Be careful, Holden bodied car bows may be different than US cars. We have a US 1928 Phaeton here in the collection if you need pics etc.

Dave T,
Many of the folding steel parts for the top can be baught from Amish Companies. I found tapered tubes for my 1919 FB50 Touring and they worked great.

Send me a email and I'll give you full dimensions of bows and irons, including them set up for the hood. Australian 28's were the same as US as were the hoods. There's also a bloke in Australia making reproduction hood irons

Thanks to everybody that has offered help. At one stage I tried to draw up a register of 4 cylinder Chevs in South Africa and we have a total of about 60. Of these, 8 are 1928 Tourers and of those 2 do not have tops. I have access to one that is in the museum in Pretoria but this one is far from original. I took a couple of pictures of one at a car show that was supposed to be original and there are quite a few differences. If I had thought about it I would have taken more detailed pictures at the time.

I will have to do all the iron work myself as we do not have craftsman like the Amish here. I will have to have the canvas made by an upholsterer but I will need guidance on its size as well.

Just for the record,Australian Hood Irons charges $2000AU for a full set of new hood irons. The wooden hood bows are $190AU each. They also sell "bits". The tubes tend to rust out but the rest is pretty bulletproof.
