Has anyone installed the door window channel kit from RE-POPS? Any installation advice will be greatly appreciated.

Well, I've installed one now. Since there were no responses I deduce that either 1) no one has done it but me, or 2) no one cares.

1949 Chevy 4400 grain bed one and a half ton.

The original window run channel (felt) has metal clips and spacers. The new one has no metal hardware on it. Jim Carter says people nowadays just glue them in with 3M Super Weather Strip Adhesive. So that is what I did. We'll see if I did a good job or not by how long the installation holds up.

Hi Lee,

Yes most of us do care, but you didn't say what vehicle you had, and only one day had gone by.

But thanks for the advice and if I have to ever use Re-Pops I'll remember that you recomend using 3M Super weather strip adhesive. I also read somewhere that the 3M is the best to use.

Sorry about that, RGWiz. I have the disease of instant gratification. I am extrordinarily impatient. LOL! Gets me into a whole lot of trouble with Sandra.

Life is fun.

I'm working on the doors of my '49 6400 now, and intend to do the 3m fix also.

Thanks for your post, Cleon. What I did was first make sure that the run channel was bent to the proper shape. I put it in with the window down and manipulated it until I got it as good as I could by hand. Then I raised the window and pressed it in. When I was happy with the shape and fit, I leaned out the run channel and put the weatherstip glue on (top and sides as far down as I could get it, which wasn't all the way) as well as I could, pressed the channel back in and rolled up the window. After a few hours, I tried the window and it seems to be fine.

Good luck!
