I do a lot of weekend driving in my 31. I would like to install turn signals. I am going to order a right side taillight arm and tail light. Has anybody run their front turn signals through their cowl lights. How would i go about wiring it. Or if anybody has a few pictures on what they did for turn signals, please send them my way.And i have a turn signal lever that mounts to steer column(universal i believe) :cool2:

I would like to do this in my '32 also; would like to hide the lever somewhere out of sight, but easy to reach.

I wired my '31 with turn signals using the cowl lights and universal taillights. The signal switch, (Signal-stat), I used had a wiring diagram that was very clear. I used after market lights because:
1. I didn't have a second arm or light.
2. I didn't think the one I had was bright enough to be effective.

Placing the switch where it is hidden is a good idea. Except if you're like me, and have a bad case of C.R.S., (Can't Remember "Stuff"), and forget to turn it off. We are used to having self-canceling signals. How many cars have you seen driving for miles with a signal flashing? curse

Hello All,

Shown is my modified dash. Some guys woodgrain the metal. I chose to use birdseye walnut. Its still a work in progress. My turn signal indicators are the green and the red is the highbeam headlight. I used my cowl lights for turn signals with L.E.D. bulbs for low heat. I used Halogen bulbs in the rear with glass reflectors. The old style plastic reflectors will melt with Halogen bulbs.

Hi from down under
I had to put turn signals on my 28 2 door which I imported from US, as driving on the left side of the road my arm wasn't long enough to give hand signals
I mounted my turn switch on a bracket I made and mounted it under the lip of the bottom of the dash, left of steering colomn, that way it cannot be seen
I ran a wire up the side of my screen then along the header board under the top section and popped out a small LED light beside my screen raiser handle. It can't be seen when not flashing and it flashes so bright you can't forget to turn it off
