The Chevrolet accessory 1940 Guide Fog Light was used for cars and trucks. The lamp is a 1940 (Chevrolet) only design and can be identified by the ring around the lens. I drops down over the top of the lens. I can email you a picture (need address)

Thats a good question.
Guide was a Division og GM so it would be natural for them to sell Guide products (although they sold Unity spot lamps for some years)
My 1938-1939 and 1940 accessory books, manuals, etc. make no mention of Unity fog lamps. The Unity are mentioned in the 1939 and 1940 parts books but the complete lamp is not mentioned. The 1940 parts book shows only the Unity lens, screw, nut, and bulb....application 1937-1940.
I did have a set of those Unity lights on my '39 at one time. They from from a 1937 Buick....for what thats worth. Did GM sell them at the beginning in 1937 before the Guide was introduced?

have no reference to the 2002E. I have a 1940 Guide book and the Chevrolet literature. Also looked at the Guide lights on my '39. Only says guide and 6 11/16" lens/rim size on top of housing (and lens). Guide sold a version of the light under their own name and looked more like the 1938 Chevrolet verion. The 1939 lamp (at least most of them) did not have the round back housing like the 1938 but it was more pointed on the back. The Guide catalog shows both. The 1939 had the same rim as a 1938 but the 1939 lens had the point or crease in the lens. The 1940 housing looked like previous but had the rim that overlapped the top of the lens making it and the lens different.
Also the 1940 cars required two different mounting brackets. The normal bracket held the light up higher. If the car had the accessory grill guard the rail on the guard came right in front of the lens. There was a shorter bracket made so the light would "look" under the rail. On the truck either would work the same.
