Looking for some more info on the 29 Chevrolet tool tray, can anyone describe this for me and how was it secured to the floor, not much room under my drivers seat and difficult for me to imagine how that large list of tools fit under their let alone a pan......it has been described to me as a shallow metal pan???? Does anyone reproduce this pan?

Thanks anyway, I found it underneath the rear seat, apparently that is where they put it on two door model and maybe some others as well

I'm glad you found it. I know it is very frustrating to look for information and parts that you can't find, but it is so satisfying when you do find out a little tid-bit now and then.
Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. B.F.

Sorry about that chief. I was the person who said it was under the front seat. I have a coupe and just assumed that the placement was the same for all models. I wouldn't have figured they would have had to move it from that location for the other applications. Every day we learn something new.

On my 29 sedan there is a metal tray under the front seat I have the front cushion out of the car and when I was clamping my wiring under the car there is a metal pan or sheet under the rear seat I have not taken the rear cushion out yet.

I guess that is the difference in that the sedan has a full front seat side to side and my car had two bucket style seats in the front both of them able to fold forward for access to the rear seating area. There would simply be no room for any sort of a pan under these seats and even if there were a pan there it would sorta get in the way of anyone getting in or out of rear seating area and it defanitely would not have been recessed in the floor as I do have the original floors in the car still. So I guess the verdict is in that the compartment under the rear seat is my toolbox.

In later models like 1931 there is a tool tray under the front seats of the Coach, Five Passenger Coupe. It was covered with a removable cover similar to the front floor.
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!
