I looked around the Bulletin Board and didn't locate this info.....can anyone tell me where the VIN is located on a 36" Standard Coupe, 2-passenger? I don't have the car in front of me, and I'm not sure where I should look. THanks! Jim

In 1936 there was a serial number and an engine number. The serial number is under the front floor mat, right side, between door sill and battery lid. The engine number is STAMPED into a raised pad on the right side of the block just to the rear of the fuel pump. Most states used the engine number for registration prior to 1955.

Thanks for the help, sounds good. I need to get the car titles in Arizona, and they will need to "inspect" the car to verify the SN/VIN is accurately reflected on the title. THanks again! Jim

I just took a 33 coupe to the Tucson branch & the title I had was Washington which had the engine number. Because the vehicle was still intact & unmollested they chose to retitle it with the serial number which was still nailed to the floor in it's original position. They did ask me if I was going to restore it. I've heard if they know you're going to streetrod it they will remove the original numbers & give it a MVD number. Don't know if it's true. Joe
