Two questions. My 38 has phillips head screws in the center divider. To the best of my knowledge they've never been removed before now so they should be the original screws. My manual shows phillips head screws. The Filling Station shows slot head screws for that application AND shows the same screw for 35 through 38. Are phillips screws correct? Are they correct for 35 through 38? Thanks.

The 1940 parts manual I have describes the screws for 1937/1938 as:

"slt-head (phillips-head)"

So it appears maybe slot OR phillips were possible? There was no indication of compatibility with other years though a more recent parts manual than 1940 might show some compatible years.

My 38 has phillips. They are original as they have the faux woodgraining to match the divider (my garnish set on this canadian model has walnut woodgraining).

My '37 has Phillips head screws. 10-32x5/8. Oval head. I've seen the ones The Filling Station offers, and I've wondered about 'em, as well.

In my locality, finding this size screw is, to put it mildly, a real challenge. You get either 1/2" or 3/4" lengths. I'm hoping one can cut the long ones down, neat enough to do, at least for now.

Oh well, I guess I better get back to that 'ol garnish molding, first.

Phillips head screws first appeared on cars in the mid-1930's so must likely they are correct for your application.

My '37 Sports Coupe was built in December of 1936. It's an unrestored car and has Phillips head screws.
