I have what appears to be a 1965 Chevy Impala push-button AM radio. The front bezel looks exactly the same as 1965 Delco radios I see on the internet. However instead of Delco it says Motorola Solid State on the top of the AM dial. There is no bowtie logo. It is also stamped Motorola and CT65A on the bottom of the case. Did Motorola supply radios for Chevrolet in 1965? Is there any difference in function?

Motorola made universal radios for several applications. They were cheaper than the correct stock radios and were installed by many dealers and independent shops. The cost to restore the Motorola radio is about the same as for a stock radio. Most of us do not stock any specific parts such as knobs, push-buttons, and dial glass.

It is highly desirable to spend your money on the stock radios. We stock many parts for those radios to include some of the hard stuff.

If you intend to have your car judged a knowing judge will deduct for an incorrect radio.
