Today I noticed the rear spring shackles seemed to be leaning over so I raised the body to take the weight off the springs, then removed the center bolt. The tapered tubular spring pins are worn half way through and the side plate tapered holes are very elongated. I noticed the Filling Station sells the spring pins but not the side plates. Is there a source for new sideplates or maybe find used ones ? The repair manual shows a tool Kent-Moore K-377 to press the pins in or out . Has anyone had experience with this procedure without this particular press ? I would appreciate any ideas .

Ebay occasionally has the shackle sets including the pins. Sometimes without the pins. Be sure to get the right ones. The rear have much longer side plates than the fronts.

I have removed a bunch of the pins. I have a tool that fits into my air hammer. It has a center that fits into the end and a flat around it. About 1/2 of them come out with little trouble. Some of the others require heat and others a lot of heat. I have also used large C-clamp to push them out.

New old stock or new old replacement stock pins are available from some obsolete parts dealers. Check with "chevy b" on this site since he may have some shackle kits. No need to replace the pins if you don't replace the shackle arms, so you will need the whole kit.

In many cases to remove the pins will require a lot of heat and patience.

You can improvise a press using a long spring ctr bolt that is threaded full length.Get one that will just fit inside the pin and slide it thru so it extends past the opposite side a distance equal to the full length of the pin.Fit a spacer sleeve that has an inner diameter larger than the pin outer diameter over the protruding threaded bolt. Next fit a 1/4"' or thicker plate over the bolt to act as plate against the sleeve and using an air impact gun and a deep socket draw the bolt and pin in.If you put the new pin on the bolt against the old one you can actually push out the old one and install the new one at the same time.
