Hi Guys,
I am getting ready to reline the brakes on my 1927 Coach which has disc wheels. So far I haven't been able to get the rear wheels off. The problem is the ring around the center of the wheel. They appear to be rusted where they they fit onto the hub. I have had them soaking with Kroil Oil penetrating oil for some time. Prying on them doesn't help. I have even tried slow driving with the 6 nuts about 1 turn loose and some quick corners but they won't budge. Anyone have any tips for this problem?
Thank you,
Dick Farnsworth

It's a known problem.
I find a acetylene / oxygen torch are best to solve the problem.
Heat the ring and use a sledgehammer and hit the tyre from the inside and out.

Hi,
Why destroy the paint with heat and possibly the wheel?Pull the whole wheel off hub and all.If you then need to remove the brake drum it is easier,if not leave it alone.Once the whole wheel is off the brakes are there right in front of you.
It is no different to us working with wooden wheels where we have to remove the complete wheel.
Cheers from a very hot Aussie
