Hello I have a 1932 chevrolet confederate coach with the spare tire mounted on the back of the car. I was wondering if the extension trunk would work with that set up or if they just didn't use a luggage rack with a rear spare tire.

Thank you,
Luke

The accessory extension luggage carrier and rack was only used with sidemount spare tires, not a rare spare.

If you are interested in a non Genuine Chevrolet Trunk there was an aftermarket trunk manufacturer that offered what you are looking for. They trunks are known as Karry Keen trunks. These trunks mounted to an intregal rack and had the spare mounted to the rear of the trunk. These trunks were a clam shell design, with the outer section folding open and down. When opened the spare went below the trunk making the trunk look like a pickup bed. I have seen these on 1929, 1930 ,1931 Chevys, F**d's, Pontiacs and the like. I'm sure it would look good on a 32. Occasionally these pop up on eBay and a swap meets.

Ya, like Raymondo has never made any typos on Chevy Chatter. bigl bigl bigl

Besides, a restored 1932 Chevrolet with a rear spare is kinda sorta rare, so it would be a "rare spare"!

What is the old expression: Those that live in glass houses should not throw the first stone.

Skip, I have been there and done that. Sometimes the speal checkre just don't catch all the mistakes we make.

Yep, ain't that the truth! I always proof read all of my postings first and I saw the "rare" and I still didn't pick it up. The brain thinks one thing and the eyes see another.
