I rebuilt my Carter (1931)a few months back and it performed real good. Today when I started it up it just wouldn't run. I saw where the carb was leaking gas. Looked like the float had stuck. I took apart and found the float had gas in it. I drilled a small hole drained it and resoldered.
Same result?? I will take it apart to recheck float again. I do question if I might have lost a gasket?? Is there a gasket on the metering housing inside where the bowl goes over? If there is I lost it. The only gasket I have is the gasket on the outsdie of the bowl on the retaining bolt
Any other ideas Shocks
