It seems that I have noticed that sill plates were not put on my car originally, I see no indications of them ever being there, any thoughts on this, I notice that some other model chevrolets do have these, any comments on this?

Are you referring to running board step plates or a sill plate that would be in the door jam?

I don't believe sill plates were ever used on the '29 or '30 Chevy's. Someone may correct me but I haven't ever seen any on any of the '29 or '30's I have seen. I will check my Fisher Body Manual to verify if no one else has responded soon. My clearance between the rocker panel and lower door is very tight and with my doors sagging a bit they rub on the door sill which is the rocker panel.

Yes, door sill plates were definitely used on specific models of 1929-30 Chevrolets. Check your parts book for the proper application. Also, the door sill plate is separate from the rocker panel.

I can verify that a 1930 4dr sedan did come with sill plates and I have looked in my parts book to see if my particular model had them and they show no listing but since it has already been established that the parts book I currently have is not the wholly grail of parts book I figured I would ask and hopefully get an answer from someone that had a more accurate book or owns that particlular model. Seems odd to me that any car would not have originally had a sill plate and I am looking for further clarification.
