Was it chromed or painted?

The '29 Chevy dash oval for passenger cars was originally a wrinkle grey paint finish. I beleive at one time you could get this paint (or a close approximation of it) in spray cans, but not sure now. Most likely trucks had the same finish. Bob

The oval part is stamped AC Plugs from Michigan...

I don't think that there is a color code for the gray wrinkle paint.
