This summer, I purchased black floor mats from American Antique Auto Parts. I don't recall exactly, but I believe he also had the taupe ones. Contact information is (504) 467-1614

The black would be correct for the lower priced Master or Master 85 series. The Master DeLuxe had the taupe.

Gene
Where there actually 2 different part numbers for 1937 car floor mats, thus indicating the GA series had taupe, as well as the cabriolets?

Yes, the orininal mat (not to be confused with the universal replacement mat in black only that Chevrolet sold later) came in two and three numbers.
The mat for the Master DeLuxe was #4075669.
The mat for the Master was 4075670.
The mat for the cabroilet was 4078674.
The cabroilet mat was different as it was brown with a cutout for the starter pedal. The M.D. had the starterator so had no cut out. These mats were the same as what would have come with the car when new.
The 1938 mats has diferent numbers, The M.D had a starter pedal, the starters pedals on the other models was in a slightly differnt positon, etc.
The 1939 had its own numbers also due to minor changes.
The reproduction mat will come with no holes cut. I have a reproduction mat in my 1939 that was made about 25 years ago. It required a general "trimming" to fit plus cutting the proper holes. Its also made of a much better material than the originals. Has not dried out and is as fresh and flexible as it was when new. The only problems is cutting holes in the proper location. A goof can be expensive.
