Wondering if someone can help me out with the wiring of a stock Chevelle fade switch for front/rear speakers in a car?The unit has 4 wires,a green on one end,a black on the other end and 2 wires,a black/green and a black/white together in the centre.I've tested it using a battery and light bulbs and can get what would be one speaker at a time working but never both speakers together.
Anyone have any ideas.Thanks.....Wayne

If I understand your problem, you do not have a fader switch? This is a switch that goes on the right (volume/on/off) shaft before the knob. If you have this switch then you will also need the special wiring harness. The fader wire goes to a special socket that accepts the three contact wire from the fader.

You need an assembly manual for the 65. This information is covered in detail in that manual.

Being from Vancouver,WA this must be Ray Holland. Thanks Ray.I've got a '67 manual for a Chevelle(this switch is actually for my '67 Beaumont)but a lot of Chevelle parts and pieces are the same.I'll see what I can dig up.See you in Vancouver in August...Wayne B.from Victoria

Sorry if I mislead anyone. This is a separate switch which normally resides above the radio in the centre of the dash right underneath the dash pad.I've seen 'em on Beaumonts and I assumed Chevelles also had them.Maybe not! It's labelled 'speaker' in the middle and 'f' on left side and 'r' on right side with a rotary lever mounted below switch. The wires and terminals are on the top of the switch and the bl/gr and bl/wh appear to both terminate on one terminal in the centre....Thanks...
