I have a '51 Styline Deluxe 4dr (Model 2103). When I bought it, it had a three spoke steering wheel from a Model Series 1500 with a snap in hub cover, dark plastic center. I have since replaced it with the correct two spoke wheel, which came with a light colored plastic center hub cover. Is the dark or light one correct? Thanks for your help!

If you are refering to the center hub that has the a shield with the chevy bow tie then the light background color would be correct for '51. I looked through all my color ads and brochures for '51 & '52. All the '52 material shows a black background. I could not find a color ad showing the center of the '51 steering wheel. The '51 owners manual shows a light background. The '52 owners manual shows the same but then all the pictures in the '51 manual were used again in '52. Maybe someone else could also confirm.

The 1951 is Thistle Gray (light gray) and the 1952 is black.

I have seen steering wheel center covers that had a background the same color as the car. Wasn't that at least for the '52 models?

That was in 1953 and 1954. They had steering wheel and center cap the same colors. The 1952 had different color steering wheels but all had the same black cap.

The button for a PS 53-54 car was white with gold lettering.

Correct, only the 1954 power steering cars had the white cap with the power steering words.
