I was given a Rochester B carb and would like to know the application. I plan to use a two carb setup on a '56 235 with a mild tune primarily for street use and will need a second carb with matching numbers. The carb has no tag but the cast raised numbers on the bottom of the bowl read 7004497-C-25. The steel base section has 7004518 C and 18. The diameter at the throttle plate is 1.5" and my best measurement at the venturi is 1.34". All I can find for an application is a 216/235 from '32 to '56.
Is this carb a mixture of parts or are the differing numbers normal? Which set of numbers will I need to find a matching carb?

That bowl casting number was used on almost all 1952 and up carburetors. The 7004518 throttle body was used on many 1952 and up automatic choke carbs. The number on the main well support (the little stand that has the main jey) will better identify the carb. If it has an automatic choke it would be for a 235 and the throttle plate would be 1 9/16"

First, Gene, thanks for the reply. The choke is manual. The main jet tower has C16 over 3820 in raised cast numbers on the base next to the screw head. Also found a 7004510 in cast raised numbers inside of the bowl cover. Now each major component has a unique part number. I assume that matching numbers isn't expected in these carbs? Are the carbs for different apps. made up of components from other apps?
