What is the proper way to attach the Fisher Body oval to the body of my 1938? The holes are there, do you use rivets or screws? If screws, what type of head?
Thanks,
Lou

On my '32 the plate is screwed on with slotted oval head screws.

I just put this tag back on my 37 Coupe yesterday. It uses a pair of small screws, the threads/nut is embedded in the cowl.

I got an email asking for detailed specs of the screws.

Here is what I responded:

I have the original screws that I removed 25 years ago.

The tag and the screws were in a baggie in the glove box...

I have to thank my 30 year old self... for being that careful!

Just pulled one of the screws and best as my eyes can make out....

The screw is .125 dia in the threads
Overall length is .275
Thread length is .175
and thus the head lengh is .1

The threads are so small that without a magnifying glass I have to admit my eyes cant quite be 100% sure but best I can tell I think the thread count is 38 Threads per inch.

The head is on a bevel.
IE the tag has a counter sink that the screw fits into.

Hope that helps!
