What a difference plastic polish makes on the dash cluster. What you see in the second pic is really a reflection of the camera. I can't compare brands, but I brought in Meguiars Plastic Polish and it definitely worked (after sanding with 1000 grit paper)

I have found that Brasso will do the same thing, it also works on stainless, silver and nickle, takes a bit of elbow grease.

Did not know that Brasso would polish plastic. Did know it took lots of elbow grease. Thought the Navy brass belt buckle they issued to me would never shine enough for the Chief while I still had fingers. Guess I need to get the old can out with the diaper and get busy on the Boss's Ford headlights.

Worked great on the lens!

Be careful with modern plastic headlights. Do some googling first before attacking the lenses. There is a special coating on some headlights and any polishing compound can damage it and the lights get worse. I'm sure in some of the horror stories people were not using enough elbow grease and were expecting a quick result.

I had the worn look on my wife's 12 year old F**d headlights and the lenses looked to have deposits/buildup on them. Tried some CLR and minimal elbow grease and the lenses cleaned up 80%. I could then see where some of the "clear coat" on the lense was starting to deteriorate but was a significant improvement.

I have used with great success a product from NOVUS, Inc. (800)548-6872 or (612)944-8000. They make 3 products a #1 clean & shine; #2 restores & refinish (my favorite for model cars) and #3 to repair and prepare (I've never tried this one). 2oz bottle is about $5.

It's for plexiglas lexan, lucite, uvex and acrylite. Give them a call, and if you are a good salesman, you may get a free sample.
