Did you notice it states V6. The picture shows a straight 6. What other questions might there be?

See you down the back roads.

Wrong horn, wrong carburetor, and the Trim Number is 16, not T6 as the seller stated. There are many things that need to be corrected and done to this car. :( :( :(

Orignial-repaint? What does this mean? Looks like carpet for a front floor mat. Must be a "rare" accessory! I'm sure there are many more items. On the positive side. It's nice to see a standard 32 with painted louvers.

It's like a new bride - something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

"It's nice to see a standard 32 with painted louvers" - Really? I painted my louvers the same body color because it's the proper way, although it's not very interesting. Do you mean a lot of people paint theirs a different color, or put in the chrome versions even if the car was not a Deluxe?

I mean they almost make a Deluxe by only chrome plating the louvers.

Yeah, what's with those rear bumpers? Why is there a second set of bumper bolts? Must have the wrong brackets or something.
...Oh, it took me three photos to realize that the fenders are blue...mmm I must like it!
...Ya know guys, the VCCA should offer some kind of "certification" to these dealers. Jeeze, then they can charge even more for thier commission. But we can collect a smart fee for the document.

No external holn, incorrect horn under the hood, Firewall painted black instead of body color and what are those rear bumpers off of? It also appears to have a non 32 Fuel pump, heater with no hooks up ( pipes coming out of firewall) Fenders painted blue-not black with gold stripe. Interior completely incorrect and what's up with the radiator neck sticking up and out of the shell?

For a site that is dedicated to the preservation of Chevrolets, I think maybe we should be more tolerant of "incorrect" automobiles. Possibly the owner couldn't afford to "do it up correctly". If someone requests a critique of their automobile, then such comments would be proper.

If I have learned nothing else in this hobby I have learned one thing. And, that is if you can afford to do it wrong you can afford to do it right the first time. And, the wrong way usually takes longer to accomplish than the right way. wink laugh laugh laugh

It seems like Coach makes a very valid point. Actually, whether or not an owner could afford it or not, maybe "he" did it the way he wanted to. Maybe he didn't give a rip about "originality."

I've long felt tolerance isn't an attribute possessed by many VCCA members. It seems many VCCA'ers are very quick to point out something 'incorrect' about somebody else's car.

That may not be the only reason this club has such a small number of members. But it's likely one of them!

On the other hand, if these incorrect points are being noted in an effort to provide info so that someone who isn't aware of them doesn't get caught up in a 'bad deal' - well, I guess that's another story.

Bill.

I agree with Bill and coach! At least it isn't chopped with a camaro front end and a 400 V8 in it.
Just my opinion,
Ed

Sad to say, if the car was a street rod with a Camaro front end and a 400 V-8, it would probably bring way more money that what the seller's asking price is. :( :( :(

Yes, JYD, I would rather take a rusty old bone out of a junkyard or grove and try to put it back to a functioning original than take a car like that or better and turn it into a *#!%#$ streetrod. If I did want a rod I would start from scratch and build it myself.

Even have one as a planter box (1932 Chevy coupe), and it is the coolest planter box in the county! wink dance :p laugh laugh laugh

My comments are meant at a teaching tool. To help point out the incorrect so a person can learn what is correct. I did not intend to cut down a persons car or their ability to restore a car correctly. I would rather see a car on the road incorrect than not at all. I will refrain in the future from such comments.

To my way of thinking this is the proper place to do just what has been done with this car. point out the flaws and incorrect applications on a car that is placed on a public forum for sale (ebay). After all we may need the information someday.

We aren't running down someone's freshly restored car from a member that just spent years doing, and then they drove the car over to our place to show it off or one we drove over to see. In my view that would be a rude and cruel act.

I appreciate the lesson presented here.
Thanks,

VCCA SON & Others,

I like your comments AND people who say what they think! If you don't continue to express your thoughts your going down the INCORRECT road.

When I made the decision to restore my 1931 Chevrolet I made the decision to go resto-rod. It was my car and my decision! I refuse to apologize.

I do however apologize to BILL BARKER for my heavy handed license bracket comment which was a smart [bleeped] remark.

I know your a great bunch of guys with a great sense of humor and that is why I put a lisence plate on my incorrect bumper mounted bracket which says - "VCCA APPROVED".

(I did say I like the blue fenders)

Confcoach, you are right. But the car is still wrong. We as the experts should point that out.

I wouldn't doubt if some potential buyers on eBay have picked up on the fact that we regularly criteque cars for sale.

In this case it's a dealer and in my book all nice guy stuff is out the window. I think you will notice that it's usually the dealers that get picked on. (and I hope you know why)

Hello All,

This dealer is from Mississippi and in Mississippi this is as correct as you can expect!

Extra points for fenders and hood!

I think we just serve a good public service by counterbalancing the fluffed, incorrect, or grossly overblown descriptions that show up on EBay. I actually get a kick out of the all the stuff you guys point out - I have to click back to the picture to spot what the heck someone's talking about. It's a grown up version of "Where's Waldo?"...! :)
