May I have your help again. I have been able to get my headlights (1932 Chevy) working at the dash switch. When I pull the switch halfway out the top lights burn brightly. When I pull the switch completely out the center light comes
on (without the top lights on). I have not installed the sidelights, but my first problem is when I push the floorboard dimmer switch --I blow a fuse. I am now installing a new wireing harness and a new dimmer switch. (both purchased from Filling Station.
The Dimmer switch has the ground on the center pole and the other two to the high and low beam. My fuses are ASC 30.

Can you help please? Paul

Sounds like you have a short in the wiring. My '32 had the same problem years ago and I found that two wires on the dimmer switch were touching each other.

I doubt that the center post is a ground. If I were betting i would bet that the headlight terminal on the light switch goes on the center post and one of the outside ones goes to the high beam headlights and the other outside post goes to the low beam headlights unless it has a headlight relay installed. (I don't have a 32, but do have a 28 ,a 51, a 53 and a 68) all of them but the 28 are wired to a floor dimmer switch.

Actually, the center connection is the A+ wire from the light switch. The other two terminals are as you stated.

Ok, that is what I needed to say, from the light switch A+.

I found a diagram for a 34.
Maybe it is close to a 32.

Here is a link to Keith Hardy's Old Car manuals section on Chevrolet wireing diagrams, they aren't complete but the best that I have found.
Thank Keith and Gene Schneider for having them on a internet website.

Also inspect the wires inside of the head lights. They are rubber covered and often the rubber has become hard and dry and is falling off.

The 1932 wiring diagram for the dimmer switch and headlights shows basically the same thing as the 1934 diagram.
