I believe I have the correct speedometer cable for my 1925 Touring, but do not have the connectors for the back of the speedometer or the end that attaches to the transmission. The Technical Advisor says go to my local speedometer shop. Does anyone know where I can get the connectors other than at the shop?

I see that you are a member of the VCCA, therefore, you can also run a "Parts Wanted" ad in the G&D.

Is it the cable ends you need or the adapter that screws into the transmission?

I have the cable--and that is all. Isn't there a casing that goes around the cable that has fittings to screw into the back of the speedometer and the transmission? Also, I did a test on my speedometer, and discovered it will not work. Now I guess I need to find someone to repair it. Any suggestions? Thanks

Now we understand what you need. I would place an ad in the parts wanted section. Also contact Gary Wallace, 314 293-1919.

Chevy2550,
I have an old speedo cable with the ends from a 1928 truck. I wonder if their the same. If you want, this weekend I can dig it out and send you pictures and measurements. I know Wally Deck can set you up with a complete cable with ends. His number is 217-260-0300. You could also ask him about the speedometer, he may be able to set you up or fix it.

No. Speedo cable from a 28 will not fit a 25 speedo.

Here are 4 speedo pictures

Repare a -25 speedo can be wery difficult because
they can have crack in the pot metall house, so the parts can not move free.

I have many of this speedo and 80-90 % of the have this syndrome.

Thanks for the great pics!! Mine looks a lot better than the '25 shown. There may be something internal though. It has been awhile since I removed the back, but I'll do so and see what I see.
