On the closed cars like the sedans and coupes, there is a aluminum crown moulding that goes around the perimeter of the top insert to keep the top in place. The aluminum crown moulding is secured to the wood roof rails with nails that are part of the moulding. What model do you have?

DHOOK you need to get a Fisher body manual for the wood bodies it has a lot of info on the very thing you are trying to do. Try Gary Wallace's on line catalog or call him on the phone, he should be home next week from the VCCA National Pre 1929 tour. here is his URL. Gary Wallace He also has some other good books and lots of hard to find parts. Something between the top and slats?, I think Burlap and cotton batting.

DRHOOK, Tomorrow you may as well drive the old Chevrolet down to DeLeon to the Old Chevy Day at the Terrill Antique Car Museum from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and get a free lunch!

DRHOOK that sounds like the right guy on the wood, he is supposed to be the best, Gary is more a parts vendor, and for the 4s and early 6s. He will give you personal service and he will understand what you need, that means a lot to a boll wievel like me. There were a few cars that showed up today, one looked like a 29 truck, also a 50 and a 49 along with the usual Camero and Tri-fives you see . They are supposed to have a big show in October and they have a good parade at the Peach & Melon festival parade in August, it is an afternoon event, starts around 7 PM, I will keep everyone here informed as to the dates and times, as I find out.
