I have a 46 2 ton I need rear axles for. Can anyone tell me what other models or years of truck axles I can use for replacements. Thanks for your help.

The are 6 axle choices for a 1946 larger truck. Would need the truck serial number and if its a single or two speed.

BigD, Sorry I no longer have my Canadian Parts catalog. I don't know how to determine what American model is the same as yours. If someone can help in this regard, I'll see if I have some axles that will work for you.

This might help, I sent your information in this thread to a old chevy truck fellow I know in Canada. This is his reply:
Hi Woog!
I have the same truck as the Sask. fellow--1543-- GM Canada wrote me that it is the same as an American 6403, regarding parts and mechanical specifications, so that widens the potential.
That's all the info. that I have to offer. Hope it's some help.
Regards, George Winnipeg Manitoba

I hope that helps.
Good luck,

Howdy again folks.
Here is the information to contact GM Canada.
----
Also, here's the link to GM Canada Vintage Dept. 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario L1H 8P7 toll free # 888-467-6853. If you give them the serial number they will tell you the date it was built and when it was shipped. They will also send a specification booklet at a cost of around $25 Canadian if desired. Hope this is useful info.
It's always fun to pass on information that might be used. Regards, George

Anyway, I hope this helps big d and any other of our old truck friends north of the border who may find this thread in the future.

I don't see any 6400 models until 1949. Am I missing something? Do The axles have a splined outer end or flanged outer end?
