Last summer a Judge has made confusion in my head for my 1932 Chevrolet tail light lens .I have reproduction lens ( Filling Station #BA-20P) This Judge is an antique dealer and he said to me that it’s impossible that the lens was in plastic because the plastic wasn't yet invented in 1932. I then consulted my books: Master Parts Price List 1929~1932 ( parts # 913823) it’s not specified , glass, plastic or whatever while Master Part Catalog 1929~1949 it’s specified glass ( parts # 919331) so what is the oem tail light lens for 1932 chevrolet car ? I beg your pardon for mistakes, my first language is french...

The judge was totally incorrect! The original tail light lens for 1932 was made out of celluloid, which is an early form of plastic. As a matter of fact, celluloid (plastic) tail light lenses were used by Chevrolet back into the 1920's. The reproduction tail light lens that you are using from the Filling Station is correct and no points should be deducted during the judging process. :)

I agree,in fact it was a flimsy thing too, which is why so many had glass lenses swapped in. Our Coupe still had it's original lense in the 1960's and it caused angst then amongst all knowing judges...
