As best I can tell, my "41 sedan is original - six volt system. All gauges work except the fuel gauge. What are the possibilities for a fuel gauge that does not display correctly?
Thanks in advance to all of you knowledgable, helpful people.

You can do a search on Chevy Chatter II regarding your fuel gauge problem since there have been many discussions in the past regarding this situation, including how to test the fuel gauge and the tank sending unit as well. :)

I've not been here long enough to have read the previous discussions but doing a search is always helpful. As a general rule a gauge that reads full all the time is the result of a break in the circuit, often a broken wire. The default position of the gauge is full in that instance.

With my "38"HB 4-dr. the problem was a corroded sender and the float was stuck.
