I know we need the owners manual when we have the cars judged. But do we need any other factory paper work like the warranty booklet on the newer 65-up Chevrolet cars?

Actually all the booklets delivered with the vehicle should be displayed with it on the Judging Field. Since most judges did not know what was originally supplied in addition to the OM they don't take points off for them. Examples of other literature supplied are convertible top booklets, warranty books, protecto-plates, hang tags (Freewheeling tag on '32-33 passenger), labels inside the glove box on door posts, etc.

The above recommendation is correct. If you have any late changes, after manufacture, the reference should be presented to the team on arrival. Any far out accessories should also be documented. A "build book" is worth it's weight in gold.

Could you explain a build book for us novices? Thanks

Sure! A build book is a record, to include pictures of the car/truck restoration. It can be as detailed as two of the members on this site or it can be just an outline.

I keep a digital camera at my radio bench so I can detail the work I do. I also keep a record with pictures of my work on the 1928 Roadster.

For example you need a (?) and there is just not one to be found. Describe how you solved that problem.

Suppose you were to score an extremely rare accessory. Document it in your Build Book.
