Just thought I would throw this out here. I've always liked Hastings piston rings. When I rebuilt my engine it was great at standard size. While I was checking on rings I found that Hastings offered rings for the 28 still. Product number 4198. I didn't check on over size, but I'm sure they would have them. Very reasonable at $42 a set. I got them through my local parts store.

I will check that out. What parts store did you go through?


28 Chevy LO Capitol 1 ton, 28 National 2 dr coach, 71 Chevy Custom Camper 3/4 ton. Also 23 Oldsmobile Economy truck and a 24 Olds sport touring.

Thanks Kent! Do you have the factory pistons? I did hear something about rings for one won't fit the other or something like that. The ones in mine are .020 over but I think they are factory oversize.

Yes they are the Chevy pistons.
