Unlike later models, the 1928 baffle is mounted in the water pump. There is a recessed area in the water pump housing where the baffle is located. There is a hole that receives the tang on the baffle to keep it from rotating. In rebuilding the 28 pump the baffle is installed after the two bushings and is placed before the impeller and shaft are installed.
