Well, 28 Fans I just received the first 4 sets of 28 mats on Monday. Oldie and I have been working with a supplier to whom we sent a NOS board(not in pristine condition). The Mat was laser traced and then a mirror image made for the opposite side.
From this 2 molds were made and the first 4 sets have arrived.
They match the original in every detail, including the 90 degree return on the sides(no, they are not flat as the previous ones were that had to be folded over the edge of the board).
We placed a mat on my retored 28 Sport Cabriolet board and it fit perfectly!
I will have a couple of sets, withan original, in Hershey for all to see. Stop by our space at RCC 43-45 to check them out.

I have access to some NOS 33 std mats. Not a hot mover but I know quite a few people looking. They've never been available. Is he just doing the mat or can he vulcanize as per the original? Joe

Joe,
He is just doing the mats and supplying a 2-part adhesive which apparently works very well. I have not cemented my mats yet-so we will see. He already sells 29-30 mats with this adhesive and I know of no complaints(not to say there are none). So, no vulcanizing.
Obviously, he needs to recoup the mold costs and make a profit, so demand is an issue.

Does this guy have a website? I would like to see the mats for a '30. I will need to get a set sometime in the near future. :)

Speedy1,
Sorry for the late reply, just back from Hershey. No website. You can buy your mats from the Filling Station, as the supplier sells them thru their retail sales. I spoke to Steve at the FS and he has been very pleased with the 29-30 mats they receive from the supplier.
More on the 28 mats. I sold the three extra sets I had initially ordered at Hershey. One set was bought by a major 28 supplier and another by one of our long time members. They are really very nice.
