Is a 29 1/2 ton truck drive shaft longer than a 29 car or are they the same, what i need is a longer drive shaft to put in my 29 coupe, I have a 216 installed and i am coming up short the transmission and bell housing must not be the same size or length. What i need is about 2 1/2 inches. devil :o

Both the torque tube housing and the driveshaft are the same for 1929 passenger car and 1/2 ton truck.

Why did you install a 216 engine?  laugh laugh laugh

The 216 is about 2" shorter than the 194.
The 37 - 39 3-speed is 3" shorter than the '36 3-speed.
What parts are you using?
Look in the back of your parts book for Torque Tube lengths for different years.

Thanks,Im using a 38 transmission I guess a 36 three speed would make up the difference with my 29 rear.Im going to Rinebeck N.Y. large swap meet first of the year.I am using the 216 beacuse i dont have the$$$ to re babbit the engine including the cam,I have saved everything so if I were to sell the car it would be complete. I drilled a total of four holes in the frame. I can live with that.
