Two radio antennas are used on 1941 Chevrolet. One bolts to driver side of cowl the other to top of cowl. Are the antennas radio specific and does one provide better reception than the other?

The two antennas for the 1941 pose a serious problem. The side cowl antenna (left side without a spot light and on the right if you have a spot light) has a special top mount that is NOT reproduced to my knowledge. The top mount is longer than the bottom mount in order to have the antenna vertical to the car.

The top cowl mount is a reel antenna controlled by a knob under the edge of the dash. To score one of these antennas in working condition is next to impossible.

Ray knows what he is talking about.

To replace the antenna on my 41, I called Denny Turner in Florida {I think that his name}. He advertises in G&D, under parts for sale. Check out a few back issues you'll find his advertisement.

Denny sells the, side mount antenna's. A pretty reasonable copy of the original. And it worked well on my car. I purchased the 100" {actually not 100 inch.} with the Red Ball Top. Looks great!! And he's a nice guy to do biz with.

Good Luck,
