Hi Guys!
Suppose we use a sign up list here so everyone has an opportunity to relieve the member on watch.
We talked about this in the July'08 meeting and it started with Mr.Mack standing the first watch that ended on August 1st. I then relieved him until August 15th. Ken is currently on watch until the 30th.
We are in need of someone to relieve Ken on September 1st.
Just reply to this post and it will become the Official "On Watch" List.
All you have to do is to log onto ChatterII a little more than usual, and respond to visitors and VCCA members posts. The Chat Group's role in this is to make sure everyone posting gets a timely response. If you can't help with a technical question, then direct the poster to the right topic page so someone can help him. You can also post a welcome or greeting to posters that are new so they feel like comming back for more. Hopefully a new visitor will join the VCCA. It's a very simple task, and will mean a lot to people looking for help within our hobby.
For 15 days you will have the "Watch". I found it a rewarding experience and you will see that other Chevy people can be very appretiable of your help or just a simple reply.
Thanks in advance for signing up to be "On Watch". We don't need to have the entire year filled. Let's try a Month at a time for now.
We Currently need someone to take September 1st to September 15th.... Anyone want to try?

I can take a watch as long as I don't have to wear a suit and tie or say anything intelligent. If I take a watch will y'all come over and paint my Chevy? :)

rbl2, We appreciate you stepping forward to take the next watch. I will look up my roller. Do you want the short or long nap? Or I have a straw broom that might be an alternate.

That's great rbl2. Does this mean you will take the next watch?
I think I still have some rusty ol' rattle cans around. I'm real good at painting flames!

Nap? Isn't that what I do when I take my meds?
I believe it was my ex that left with the broom if you're looking for it.

I guess I'll take it. I don't do anything that resembles work any more so I may as well take it and pretend to be an active member here.
My son already painted the old car with rattle cans. It would have been ok if we'd taken out all the dings and dents and scratches.

I have a vacuum cleaner that works in reverse. Will that be of any use in the painting exercise?
As for the "on watch" I have limited time to log on (mainly at local night) but if that is suitable I can do a stint at some stage. Tony

As I type the first of Fays feelers are coming in from the east. It won't be much more than a good storm when it finally gets here tomorrow or whenever but the local weathermen are saying to expect strong winds and hard rains and flooding. Point being, I may get knocked off line for a day or two or three.

Relax Ken, you still have a few days left. I took a day here and there, but came right back to catch up. Remember when I missed one of your posts by about 12 hours or so...
How was that car show in Vergennes?

Hey Ray.... No problem with my "Watch". The show in Vergennes was just part of a BIG Vergennes Day celebration with lots of other activities in many venues throughout the town. The car show was about 40 cars, no judging, no awards, just a shine and show deal which was a lot of fun.....batting the breeze with other gearheads about cars.....there was an absolutely gorgeous 58 Corvette there, restored to original and lots of muscle cars and street rods. A very relaxing and enjoyable day.....ended about 3:30 pm .....I got home about 4:30 pm...just in time for my afternoon Manhattan....and here I am "ON WATCH"....I wouldn't want to get fired.

Your the man ken!
Was the little town as nice as my friends say? They loved it when they were there a couple of years ago.
Those fifties Vettes are very cool. I never drove one of those. Drove a friend's 66 and my wife just about jumped out! Very Cool car.
...and then there was my 69. Sure wish I still had it!

Ray No problems. I have a reminder note stuck to the monitor now. You are right about the time zone and there is 3 from down here on line as I type but they have all been here for some years now. Tony

Hey Tony and Bill......thanks for jumping in for September..
No suit and tie required.......a tee shirt and maybe a beer or two works well.

Sorry but I don't drink. I will, however, wear blue jeans with that t-shirt and probably a pair of shoes as well.

rbl2, shoes nor socks nor a belt is required. A bathrobe and flip flops is an alternate day or night time uniform.

Hey ken,
Is the alternative really; "a tee shirt and maybe a beer or two works well."
mmmmm....I'm sure glad you cleared that up in your last post.

In some cases (mine included) it is probably a good thing we are not using "webcam" or there might be a lot of complaints. Tony

I will volunteer. But I've got to wait until at least late October. We are in the middle of a move...more shop space and lots of room for expansion. 37Blue
