What would be a good choice of paint for painting my 32 roadster frame. I have it stripped bare & have cleened the little rust that was on it. I am not sold on the por15 product as I did not have much rust.
Thanks

You can either have it powder coated or paint it with catalyzed acrylic enamel. Both are excellent. laugh laugh laugh

Thanks for the information. With so much work I hate to mess up by not using the proper paint.

I am surprised that it is gloss, I was thinking it should be a semi-gloss paint. I had read that rustoleum semi-gloss was a close match to factory original.
Thanks

In 32 there was no such thing as semi gloss. Gloss is correct.

Take a look using the the search buttom up top and search under"1932 chevy frame paint color "

You will see quite a discussion on this same subject. I have seen several people use the Rustoleum Satin Black and have had great results.
Another option is to mux 50/50 Flat and Gloss Black Rustoleum! If you brush this in with a good brush you will also fill in a lot of the blemishes.

Good Luck with the painting!

Any finish but gloss on the frame is wrong for 32.

Jay32,

I have my 32 Roadster entered at a VCCA meet in Cookeville, Tnn. in May (in two weeks) I assume with a VCCA meet that close geographically you will be there. I'll be happy to talk you about your Raodster.

I had already figured out that I do not want to use rustoleum. I will be using the catalyzed acrylic enamel. (gloss black)This was my fathers car he bought it 20 years ago from a man in Texas. When he died he left it to me, he said I was the only kid that would finish the car.He started to restore it before he got sick ( its in what seems like a million peices) so after looking at the boxes for 8 years I decided it was time to get started.Want to do a good job.
Thanks for your help

I hope you finish it! The car deserves it. VCCA members will help with info and hopefully a lot of encouragement. Some people are faster than others at restoration projects. Don't ask how long my project was. That's not the important thing. Enjoy the project and the new friends you make along the way.
